April Newsletter

NEWS FLASH President resigns in a rash behaviour, could it be pressure of children, grandchildren, husband or old age? YES! NO!

YES it's true! Jill Smith, after a long and experienced term in office decided at the AGM to not stand again. That got the club thinking and scheming, who needs the job? Guess what! I won! Yes, James Hazlett gets to hold the reins.

HELLO and welcome to another financial year 1998-99. This all started at the AGM held at our club room on Sunday 26-4-98, usual minutes and elections were held. Jill was thanked for her dedication over the last 5 years keeping the club running in the right direction. The office bearers for this years are: President James Hazlett; Vice Tony Hollows (very apt- WP); Secretary Kay Dundass; Treasurer Trevor Davis. Most other positions where held, with long term members being the backbone of the club, especially sec, tres and armourer. Jill got another job since she's still No. 1 shooter.

Other activities the club has hosted

- Our 10th Birthday 8 March was a very successful weekend, lots of friends of the club came and enjoyed.
- Annual Naseby/Ranfurly Fire Brigade shoot 19 April. 23 shooters all enjoying reactive events.
- Smallbore/pistol shoot 10 April. Distance challenged 18 shooters.

The winter months are looming which means access to the club is weather dependant unless you have Ladas or huskies. An indoor range for air pistol has been offered - see programme for shooting days. A black powder shoot is being proposed, to be held at our range near the end of November.
Upcoming events:
- Mid winter Xmas 26 July
- South Island Champs Christchurch 18 October.

ALL FOR NOW!!
SHOOT WELL
JAMES
