The TAU7 is an excellent beginner's pistol for UIT shooting at around a quarter the price of other European match pistols. It has proven that you do not need a $2000+ pistol to shoot A Grade scores.
Both left and right hand models are available, featuring an adjustable orthopedic grip. Trigger is fully adjustable for weight and position, and can be set as either single or double stage. For shooters with shorter pinkies we can supply a short-reach trigger, positioning the trigger shoe a further 4-5mm to the rear.
Three detachable barrel weights and one aft weight can be attached in order to balance the pistol according to taste.

The TAU 7 can be filled with CO2 in the following ways:
1. 12 gram capsules. These give anything from 50 to 90 shots, depending on condition of the internal seals and the temperature. It is possible to use the more economical 7 gram capsules, simply by measuring the difference between the two sizes (the outer diameter is the same), and cutting a spacer off an empty capsule.
2. Charging the pistol directly from the 125 gram bottle supplied will give between 45 and 80 shots. A full 125 gram cylinder should last between 500 and 700 shots. Gas usage also depends on the velocity setting.
Winding the adjuster screw will increase pellet speed but greatly drop efficiency. It is set at the factory at the optimum velocity and should only be changed if absolutely necessary (ie for metallic silhouette).

The most cost effective supply of CO2 gas is to hire a large cylinder from BOC (formerly CIG). They charge an annual rental plus a filling fee. Shared among several shooters this becomes extremely cheap.
If you intend to do this, the following information is very important. The gas code for the food-grade CO2 suitable for use in all target air pistols is 082. To assist with easy filling (not having to tip the large cylinder upside down when filling), be sure to order a cylinder with an eductor tube. Bottle code will end in an "E" - ie DE, GE or EE. It should also be coloured grey with a black stripe down the side.
The adaptor which screws on to the BOC/CIG bottle and allows filling of the 125 gram cylinder does not come with the pistol. It can be purchased as a seperate accessory for A$34.00, and is called a BB adaptor. The small cylinder should be placed in a freezer at least 15 minutes before charging to allow it to charge fully. It should weigh around 770-780 grams when full.
