About Us

Rob and Ann Potter were the second generation of the "Potter clan" to own and run Potter Firearms. They built a business famous for great service, honesty and a real understanding of the needs of serious shooters across Australia and New Zealand. Rob and Ann retired in April 2012 to a quieter life in the tranquil highlands of NZ's south island.

Now, Bruce Quick, Ben Hall and Bruce Favell have taken on the existing business and have expanded into Victoria, as well as retaining the SE Queensland store.

Bruce, Ben and Bruce are no strangers to competitive shooting. All three have been recent Australian National Champion pistol shooters within the last 2 years (and on many other occasions in the years beforehand). The two Bruce's have also represented Australia internationally for over 25 years, and have more than a dozen Commonwealth Games medals between them.

At the center of Potter Firearms business is a real desire to provide quality merchandise, accurate advice, and value for money to the shooting fraternity of Australia and New Zealand.

We are able to provide factory trained service for the firearms we import, and carry a large range of spares and accessories for your needs.

Bruce Quick uses Match Guns as his personal target pistols and has done so for several years - Standard, Rapid, 50m, Centre Fire and Air - he has the lot!  Ben Hall also uses the Match guns for 50m and Standard pistol events. Bruce Favell has been shooting his Morini CM22 pistol for around 10 years (Rapid Fire and Standard), a Morini CM84E for 50m and still uses the same Steyr air pistol he bought from the Potters in 1999!

With our years of shooting with these pistols, we have all pretty much 'been there and done that' and can offer advise from a wealth of personal experience.

The new owners will strive to maintain the impeccable reputation and commitment to customer service that the Potter family have developed over so many years.
